Custom Glyphs in Illustrator CS2

I was wonering if you can make a custom glyph for a font or custom make a bullet. I have a chemical co brochure that I have designes special bullets for and instead of having to treat them like a graphic I wonder if any one knows how I can get them to act like type.

You'd have to use a font editor and insert your glyphs into either existing or new font file. Then save it (as TTF, OTF or PS format) and install in your system.

However they will only be visible for those who have them installed, or if you embed the fonts into the document. Another solution would be... converting them back to curves
