Webpage design
Check out the home page. I am not done with it yet.. But this is what I came up with. I might change the font, but I like the background. Also what else can I add besides portfolio, links, contact etc... I need more to fill it up.. It is just a site to show employers my website and such. And if I bid on freelance projects

I'ts too wide on my screen, Stitchy .. also too tall, and no scroll bars..
maybe you can reduce the size just for now... to make it fit the screens

they layout you have going here would be good for a flash site... it will be interesting to see how it goes over as a static however. i've always had trouble here and there with the non-normal placement of menus

I might add flash to it... Not at this time though. Maybe later on once I have the site all done.

I think he ment the fact that the layout is as it is that it would work better as a completely flash site (instead of basic html)

But now my question to you is...Just because it looks like it "Should" be a flash site, why will it not work for basic HTML.... The thing that bothers me is people base everything on what it Should be, not what it is. I do not believe in abiding by the rules for everything. That's just my opinion.

I think it looks great. I see what they mean by a flash site, but at the moment it does look very nice.

It wouldn't work so well as a normal site as it would be extremely hard to code due to the curve and the content following that.

It could be left as an image, though wihtout the best image optimisation, it would be a long loader for 56k users. The content could go in rectangular text boxes in the centre

Doing the norm and doing what should be done are too different things.
I'm all about creative thinking... probably more than most around here... but I have coded a site like that before... it's not fun. plus "abiding by the rules" is something you have to do somewhat if you want a site that actually works for most everyone on the internet... that's why you code in a programming language... because it has rules that allow you to be creative.
Break the rules of society... that's cool. Just understand that this one design would work better in flash. Just because you code a site in flash to avoid a headache for yourself doesn't mean you are following "the rules"... it's the end result that shows whether or not you conformed to the world...
no need to be shocked by anything anyone has said about your design. To be honost, I haven't stated my opinions on it... I was just trying to help clarify someone else's statement.

I had said earlier that I was just using that for the time being until I get everything up and running. They eventually I would work on making it a flash site...

Juggopop- I understand you are giving feedback... Also sorry to throw you off there... I just got a little annoyed cause When i posted my work on another forum.. (craigslist.org) everyone gave really harsh feedback because I was not "following the rules" and I was not doing what was supposed to be done... they all hated my logo and everyone kept crying that I should have a more Elegant font because of the name and cause I am a girl... which really annoyed me.. But I do value the feedback given here since everyone is more on my level... I just want my site to stand out you know.... Also for the time being... to leave that page as HTML... is it impossible to code it the way I have it.. or is it possible.. but difficult.?? oh.. and i used the because I think it looks funny... I am stupid...
