you should make the outline around the letters a different color. When you have it over the white start you do not see the outline in those places and it looks weird. Also if they are using that as their actual logo as well, not just for website, you might want to make a logo that kind of looks like it can be a bumper sticker.... get what I mean.. If it is for just a website than it won't matter... but it is good for a first attempt. Go to www.elance.com. go under the graphic design section and look for at other peoples portfolios for logos to get ideas.... that's what I do...

they were supposed to give a circle effect around the lettering. hes another one similair but i made it way too big. it will gice you a better idea what i am going for
