Adobe CS3 prices revealed

Amazon made a mistake and published the prices for Abobe CS3 products on its site.

Once Amazon was informed of the mistake by Adobe, it took those products immediately off the site, but thanks to Google cache... you can still see CS3 prices...

Enjoy...

it slipped a few weeks ago. the price tag is to be expected, it has been well over 1000 for a while now. I figured they would go up some.

The $3,500 is for the best package available. There is nothing currently that compares to it as far as what they offer from a single package. It will include the normal creative suite, all the web applications such as dreamweaver, flash etc.. and some other things i believe. It is still an overall savings. The only real need for that package is if you are some high end development company. To the average graphic designer, web developer, or print shop there is no need in it all.

I am really looking forward to it. I think I will go ahead and switch to Mac full time now that bootcamp is going well. I can not wait to see how it runs on an intel mac

I hated the cs1 series. the cs2 has been great though.

I thought I had fond memories of v7, but I had to go do a job interview the other day and they wanted me to demonstrate what I could do. the had PS v7, Quark v4, and illustrator v5. I was so lost, it had been forever since I worked with any of those. You realize what features you come to enjoy in the newer programs. Needless to say I didn't get that job, they don't seem real dedicated to their graphic department anyway if they do not even upgrade software. They were running Mac os9 as well.

Well actually, the selecting of layers and stuff in CS makes it worth the upgrade, hated having to link every layer i wanted to simultaneously move. That sucked, so that's worth it just for that. Text on a curve, also.

Wow! I have yet to try out the demo for CS3. I just can't imagine any photo editing program being worth that much.

I'm still stuck on 7. I had CS2 for about two days and it was so different that I reinstalled 7 and never looked back

Maybe it's time to give it another shot..

I got cs and cs2 installed. Using cs, because cs2 for some reason does not allow me to ctrl+click a layer to load selection. Might try again sometime soon, since I love the 'font examples'.

You have to click the little icon next to it in the layers palette, rather than the layer name.

Is there a big difference between CS and CS2?

Umm..

Here are a few differences between CS and CS2 that I know about:

1). CS2 requires good amount of RAM that has improved startup speed. (I always take RAM issues seriously!)
2). It has built in support for RAW or uncompressed camera file formats.
3). Improved file browser that is now called Adobe Bridge.
4). More filter and effects (that's always cool!)
5). Changes in layer selection methods and an additional link button in the layers palette.
6). Improved support for Adobe product family.

That's all I know..
