Concert Posters
I'm rapidly running out of ideas for concert posters, and have become blind to my own work (looking at it so much, no longer being able to tell what is good or bad).
Below are three of my poster designs. The two more recent are very similar because I struggled with the brown colour scheme - is this a good thing or a bad thing to have some common thread?
Any and all criticism would be greatly appreciated, as I am trying to think of ideas for the next concert poster!

I am no expert on posters, but I think your designs have class. They look clean and crisp, very fitting for a concert at a church. As for new ideas, maybe you could incorporate some kind of musical instrument or maybe even a semi-transparent jazz ensemble, to let people know its a concert. Its just an idea.

I considered that for some of my older designs, where the posters were placed in more public areas. These posters are more used at the music faculty, music stores, or at churches, so sometimes I want to stay away from the cliche music notes.
The last poster there (Soundscapes) we are performing a piece that is about Leonardo's flying machine. I found a graphic of that, but was unhappy with the results of a focussed graphic, and used a more abstract picture instead. Good or bad? Did I give up too soon?
Oh, and thanks kindly.

Well, the abstract looks good.
Here is a link to a pic..
pic
I don't know if its the same one you used, but if you want people to know its about Da' Vinci, a pic of his drawing would be a good way to do that. The pic in the link has around the same color composition as the abstract background, and it looks a little abstract. But, I think the poster looks good as is, tho..

Come to think of it, I should have used that for the insert graphic. I had initially considered something more literal, I think an actual monochrome photo of someone's flying model.
Oh well, hindsight is 20/20!

The black and brown ones are much better than a green one for sure.
I'd change just a few things on these two.
Typography - Small Caps don't look and work well on the black one, and the way you mix different fonts at the top is very odd.
Font selection - the script one is very good and works with the illustrations very well (is it Scriptina?).
But all the other fonts don't match this quality (Georgia on the black one and Americana on the brown one). I'd try different fonts, so they match the design better.

Scriptina indeed. Thanks to Cricket for the reference on that.
The font change at the top of the black is because captilization is part of the brand name of both the groups involved. But that aside, I'll experiment with a better base font next time. Any direct suggestions?
