It's not as bad as the both of you say. It's not quite professional - a little too literal with reds and hearts - but there's obviously skill behind it. You might need to just keep playing around with many projects to have your taste level match up with your abilities.

If you are gonna use that red Q at least match it to the red of the rose in the pic.

'By Lebanon' is too large and ditch the black keyline.

The first one is best with the open book, it's a good picture to start with.
