I'm looking to get into creating banners and logos and was wondering if anyone could recommend some good professional software??

I am not a graphic designer by any means, but I use adobe photoshop for my logos. They come up very professional looking. In my opinion at least.

Depends what kind of banners you want. Adobe Photoshop is the best of course, but I also use Paint shop Pro for some things as well (mainly for compacting files more as photoshop doesn't do too much of a great job).

Flash MX is good if you want those fancy or interactive banners.

The best way to make logos is to 1st draw them, then scan them in and by using Adobe Illustrator use the pen tool to draw over them.

For banners the best way is to do this is to use Photoshop
