I need a little bit of help...

I am making a nice web 2.0 logo for my new forum (well I am trying to make it) and I need to know how to get that nice web 2.0 shine effect in the background bhind the text. I am using Fireworks but I have Photoshop so if you could tell me how to do it in either other them that would be GREAT!

Do you mean like a shin effect on a text? All you have to do is make a new layer and fill it with white, then lower the opacity to around 10-20% and create a clipping mask do it only applies to the layer you attached it too.

Do a search for aqua buttons on google or mac aqua buttons, use that as a base and figure the rest out yourself.
