Inkscape colours - this must have a simple answer!

Hello

I'm a newbie at using Inkscape. I'm wanting to use a background colour of #036, but I don't understand the RGB code that Inkscape uses.

How do I get a background colour #036 in Inkscape?

(for interest sake, a snapshot of the logo I'm wanting to change the colour is at the top of this webpage, www.airflights.to/temp.php)

Also, your hex is a condensed code. If you have 6 characters, put them straight in. If you have only three, double them up. Ie. #003366.

Thanks, ChicGeek - that helps a lot. One thing which still confuses me though, is that Inkscape has 8 numbers for input and 003366 is only 6.
