Banner Maker Pro for Flash/SWiSH

Has anyone used these programs for making banners?
Or do you have suggestions for one? I need to start making Flash banners at work. I have Flash MX but the last time I seriously used Flash was like 7 years ago in collage. I’ve used it to convert images to use in this Impact service we are currently using at work but they want to move away from using it so they want me to use Flash. I’m wondering if it’s easier to use a program specifically for banners, if there is a good one our there, or just figure out how to use Flash again.

Hi there

I'm not a web pro by any means, but I have used SwishMax in the past. Though some people dismiss it as "flash for dummies", it's actually a very good program! It's extremely user friendly, and I'd challenge anyone to be able to tell the difference between a banner made in Swish and a banner made in Flash.

Yah, gota go with do-over on this. There's no point in learning Flash if you're just going to make banners and these other programs can give you that same functionality from the sound of it.

Having said that, though. Learning Flash and doing more than just banners isn't such a bad idea either And definitely upgrade to v8 if you're just starting out. 7 years ago, I was just starting in MX out of v5. That was a loooong time ago in program years.

Right now for work it just seems like overkill to use Flash on banners with a maximum file size of 32k you know what I mean? And getting my office to upgrade to Flash 8 will be such a hassle. If it's under a hundred bucks it's easier. I'd rather get the SWish and not go nuts relearning MX right now.

In the past i used very simple but useful software - Flax

What is FlaX ?

FlaX comes equipped with 143 predefined effects, subdivided into 52 highly adjustable categories, which you can tweak using sliders and buttons, thus being able to create tens of thousands of unique effects.
