Problem with 3d Max 9 on Vista.

Hi, id just got a new laptop and straightly installed 3d max 9 at Vista but theres couple of stuff i dont get.

1. Error pops when i start my 3d max

"DLL <C:\ Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 9\stdplugs\DxPlugins\DxDDS.bmi> failed to initialize.
Error code: 998 - invalid access to memory location."

Why is that.. WHY!?! WHY!!!

2. My Views are normal, Top, Left, Front, Perspective, but when i try to rotate it with Mouse's Scroll Roll (alt + scroll roll) all of those views turned to all white, when i continue changing the angle of my perspective, it goes back to normal, but the other 3 views still white =(

Why oh why!!

You should update to SP2 as that will fix allot of other Vista compatibility issues.

DDS is a Direct X Shader texture format. If you don't use DDS textures, don't worry about it. If you do, here you can dl and reinstall the dds plugin. That might fix the bug.

For the viewport issue, try checking the 'Disable Desktop Composition' box in the Compatibility tab.

If that doesn't work, try switching off Aero.

No problem. I hope it works out for you. Ya some of those autodesk posters can be a tad elitist.

3ds Max 9 by default is not vista compatible. A service pack has been released by autodesk to solve this issue lateron which is available at autodesk website. Iwould have posted the link but m not allowed to post links yet. Do a google search n u'll get the sp2.
