Graphic Contest - Header & Logo for Website
Hello folks!
I would like to conduct a website logo and header contest! The prize will be $50 - payable via PayPal to the winner.
The site is called "Scalable Air"
This is a technology network of users.
The background should be very dark - black or dark blue is preferred.
The header should be easily modifiable because there are going to be many variations of this header for local sites. Here is a desired effect (but I am not sure how one would create it - so surprise me!):
Lines coming in, say from the right top, seemingly from one source, and breaking off to form the small, rectangular buttons (that are
currently the word links). Almost a zoom effect, but very subdued.
The contest will last one week. To be considered, drafts should be submitted by Wednesday, April 7.
Good Luck!

I don't know if I'll have time for it, but do you have a site for it to be aimed around?

sounds like you are just trying to get someone to do a header for you for $50.

Well, I have tried to make this header myself, and I must have tapped out all of my creativty last month because I am getting nothing. My headers are a mix between moveon.org and delta.com. I am looking for someone to show me the way. I figure $50 is a nice reward to anyone who can help spur my creativity!

true, but you get a bunch of people to work for nothing and then if you like one you pay that person for their time... a better idea is to find a person that you know can do the job and pay them directly...
photoshop contents are best when they are for the goal of improving ones skills while having fun, ... it's just not the same when you are all trying to work for the same person in hopes that you get paid.

Well, I am new to the forum and don't really know anyone's skill. As a way of learning, I am using the contest. I figure that there are probably talented designers out there who are looking for something to do and wouldn't mind putting a few hours worth of work into a quick $50 contest.

I too agree with Juggo, its like you wanted a logo for your client..
and you would be able to suggest him tons of design, and pay one of the contest winner just $50..
Is its not true, then let everyone, design a logo for anything they feel like, and select best out of it...

That stuff is very easy to make. Take almost no time. Get yourself a copy of the gimp and have some fun. Don't think that many people will want to put in time for the possibility of a small payment - especially talented people.

i think everyone is missing his point... he may be looking for someone to do his site and his intentions (according to others) may be evil...
But I don't think the 'contestents' should go at this as a 'job' type of project. Go at it as fun, and trying to improve your skills and if you win so be it... you get $50, but if you don't, you've hopefully improved your design skills and had a little fun in the process.

downtroden's got it right.
its good exp for someone who might not be sure if their skill is worth being payed for and can give someone like that a shot in the arm to expand their exp and maybe get their first gig out of it.

Ummm...
Is this contest still open... It was posted back in April and was only going to last a week.
Can we see who won the design?
