Why is the K larger than the rest of the text? It almost reads "A F K kay?"
I recommend looking at some logo books like logolounge and examining how other professionals approach typographic logo treatments. As it stands, if a designer came to me with this logo, I'd thank him/her for their time and show him the door.
That's the harsh part of it. The good news is you're doing this for yourself and it's a learning process. So lets learn. Try putting all the letter together at the same size again. then play with perspective, some psuedo 3d. Try integrating your tagline with the rest of the logo. Try doing all of this in black and white. Play with the shapes. When you have something that looks good in black and white, then add some color back into it. Then explore value, rich vs muted tones. then start playing with distressing or glossing or other rendering techniques. THEN go on to your backgrounds and site design.
It's gonna take some time. The last logo I worked on took 3 months and accrued $54,000 in billable hours. I had the benefit of working on it with other designers and Art Directors. But the key is keep pushing it, and keep getting feedback from others.
But when it's done, it gonna kick ass. And that's what you really want right?
