Well... White isn't a color.

Do you mean the blue?

It's blue. Not much to think about there. No color palette or color combinations happening.

Personally, the colors are unappealing to me.

I guess I'm a bit eccentric.

IMO the blue and brown work well together. It gives a natural feel but stays fashionable. They are complementary to your subject.

Why? That shade of blue has never appealed to me. Will color psychology research change this do you think? Or, does this need changing? Should I delve into the reasoning behind my bias, or just accept it? What do you think?

It doesn't matter what we "think" it matters how potential customers percieve the colors (statistically)

can't afford to purchase studies? what colors are the major manufacturers using (right down to the shades) - they bought them.......

with all the dog food scares lately, colors count

Those keyword are for the posted banner, which is all about natural organic holistic, dog sitters and club, but I'm guessing he mistyped the dog sitter and club as I see from the banner it comes together dog sitters club.

Australia Banners,

I know you wanted to get a link up on a board and maybe show off a design - AND that this isn't the review board - BUT -

Australia has a very high percentage of internet users that have broadband (comparied to most countries including the US) but your page load time is well over a minute and 1/2 at 56K..... Your site locks out a large percentage of your traffic (potential customers) -

I don't know who did the site for you but fire him - if you did still fire him.

Are you wanting feedback on the banner colors or the website? The banner uses brown which is a very natural color that will fend well with a product featuring animals and the blue gives it some character - the colors do work well together. I've used a similar color palette before and was happy with the results. The colors on your website are very 2.0 and feel more like you're an web-based firm more than you are printing. Since you specialize in sign-making I would avoid using the 2.0 gel/gradient look and feature some more artistic graphics and print specific design elements and typography. It's a good look, I just don't think the hand fits the glove on this one.

Some texts are fading due to the color like naturally etc...

I think too much blue in it.

Not the colors

The colors are fine. the problem lies in the layout. You currently have three entry points to the design. This is making it difficult to look at. The eye isn't following any particular hierarchy of importance instead it gets pulled between the word dogs in the logo, the blue text container and the dog itself. These all have very similar size and contrast. As such, the over all effect is cluttered.

On a positive note, some simple retooling of the elements in play could result with a very nice piece.

I like the blue, its calm. Could have given it more of an organic look though. I think sky and clouds, not dogs and doggy food. As well, maybe cuz I am across the pond here, but is specializing spelled with a "z" or an "s" down there with you guys? If you spell it with an s, then pardon me. But it you don't, oh boy.

I personally like the colors. I don't know what the "color of the year is" but brown is still pretty fashionable at the moment, I think.
