Help with logo

Hi Guys and girls. I need some help. I'm not a graphics guy. I do logos just as a service for clients.

I told a prospective client I don't do logos anymore, but would try to come up with something for them. This is a new company that has the potential to become a major player.

The Ceo sent me this hand drawing and asked if I could come up with something in "silver and Maroon".

Well, I'm not creative, I'm a marketing guy.
Will you get paid for it - NO!
BUT I will recommend you to this company for future stuff, if someone can come up with something they like. (future stuff I foresee - print ads, banners for the web, seminars, conventions, etc).

I will show them the examples you guys come up with and if they chose one, I give you credit and let them know it came from a pro source, I won't try to take credit.

If they choose yours, I'll pm you and get your contact information (Skype name, email etc) and try to push as much graphics work your way as I can.

This is not a scam - I'm landing this account, it's going to be a big one and it will pay off, and I just need some help.

If I was answering this post I'd probally make a lame joke about money up front or no workie....

I don't pretend to be what I'm not and my job for them will be to make them money not be an expert at everything.

I've done some examples for them (all poor) but they himmed and haulted about all. They kinda like #10 and 11 on this page - http://64.62.146.160/1/examples.htm

It's going to have to look presentable on promotional materials (pens, etc,) as well as large banners and a maybe a lighted building sign.

I'll show it to them. Haven't started the job yet but if they like what you did, you have my loyalty.

Just picked up a 100 hour a month client today (different client).
But the CEO that requested the logo is flying into the states soon.
seems like a done deal, if any are. Just a matter of pay, hours and when to start.

gridsix,

PM me your contact information.

They like it but want some minor changes. I'll make the changes (I'll send you a pic so you can make a high res version), They will need you for other work.

Got a call today, they are going for the whole deal. They're a brokerage firm, and will be expanding.
I've told them I would outsource graphics work, I'll put you in direct contact with them. (related to print stuff , paper ads, banners, etc).
I will be handling the online stuff.

Sorry G10, I didn't get to show them your stuff, I haven't been on the board lately, picking up too many clients, too busy.... just started subing for a big marketing company. What a mess they are in! And there I was thinking it was time to retire

gridsix, I'll set up a ftp for you to get the work to them and an email account.
