A few things I notice right off the bat.

The text compared to the graphic is woefully out of balance. If anything, the text should be larger and the graphic smaller. Keeping in mind that it should work at sticker size, business card size, website header or banner and any other number mediums. Since it’s for a band, my first consideration is sticker size and the bands name not being prominent enough.

Since (I’m assuming here) the band is called “The Lawnmower Incident” maybe just a chopped up hand would work. With some fingers missing. That can be done fairly easily with much less detail getting lost when shrunk down or being too busy and seems to me to be more an incident than a massacre.

I think the concept is sound (a chopped up something-somethin) but the execution could use some work.

Agreed on the text, unless that's what you are going for... Maybe a few bloody fingers next to the text would get the same message across?

I agree with the severed limb approach. I often find that while shock may get attention, subtle dark humor sells.

hrm,.. i tried to balance it out overall with some guts to the left and the leg to the right,.. if you consider the center of the torso the midpoint,.. the balance isn't that terrible.

Also,. this is a minor band, the logo will be used on the myspace page, and its done in 4.75in x 4.75in so it can be used as is on the only other thing it would be good for,.. the cd insert.

I like the idea of a more subtle logo,.. maybe if we make stickers ill use some toes or something around a text

Thanks though fellers,.. altogether useful crit.
