Gimp Question

I downloaded the Gimp windows installer file and installed it but when I try to open the program it says it failed to intialize??


Any thoughts on this???

Where did you download it from?

Have you tired uninstalling and reinstalling?

I downloaded it from a link on the gimp website and yes I uninstalled and reinstalled and got the same problem.

I guess maybe got a bad download I will try a new download.

By the way I am using win 2000

OK I am confused, What does my browser have to do with Gimp??

Do you mean I need to upgrade to XP or something?

Ok I guess I can do that, so Gimp won't do with Windows 2000

I'm pretty sure Gimp works with 2000.

I don't think I have spyware or anything like that as I watch that carefully and there is no other program that is not running.

I am going to try a new download as soon as I have the time.

Did you install the gimp gtk first? Some versions of gimp require an install of the gtk before the installation of the gimp in order for it to work with windows.
