I actually like it, but I would say maybe more detail on the bird (Grey shadow lines, etc) to give the image more of a 3-d look to it.

Thanks! Yea i was thinking about more detail on the bird.. Was just afraid that it would lose the concept, being a BLACK Sparrow.

Give them a unique looking sparrow. The one you have looks clip artish. If they are going to trademark the logo, you are going to want a vector file.
At first glance, the branch it is sitting on makes the image a little bit to hard to see. Maybe drop the branch and have the bird in motion?

I would have the branch be brown, or if you want b/w change it to a gray.

I like the straight black profile, Donkey. Maybe just add a bit more detail to the profile of the bird.

I might have done one in flight to show its profile. Right now it looks an an ambiquous bird. could be a raven, could be a swallow.

It's a fantastic logo!
I agree that the bird needs to look less catalogue and bit more free form. If you don't want to change the bird, consider making the words below it less blocky.

The Green branch needs to be more visible - needs to stand out against the black bg
Since the text is in White you must be planning on that being against a Black bg

I like it. Some tips:
Add detail using a dark gray (so you can see the detail but it still looks dark).
Add an eye. Remove the branch (this is optional . . .but you can experiment with/without it).

Easy to verbally describe, but not sure what a black sparrow has to do with manufacturing. How did they come up with name, or what do they manufacture?

You might want to try again. The site just worked for me, so there might have been a glitch.
