Colours too loud?
Please be brutal. Are my website colours too brash? I wanted something bright and cheerful, not much is on the subject of tuberculosis. So do the colours go well or should I tone down?
In anticipation

Considering your subject, (tuberculosis) I think you want to draw the visitor to the content. You want the message to stand out, not the background.

That's right . . .and also the colors are too close to each other (i.e. red, yellow, orange are all fairly close on the color wheel) you need to tone it down a bit and spread out the colors. Perhaps blue and orange, or blue and red, etc.

If you want a Website Review, you're welcome to post this request in the Website Review forum. However you *will* have to make at least three quality reviews before your site will be allowed.
That aside, I think the colors are a little garish. Any particular reason you went with those colors?

Well it least Ive got an idea of how people view my site. Well I DID ask
I just wanted three colors in the same area. The css for the buttons took me ages.
I will take on board however and try to settle on a colour and two shades around it. After all my content is more important than how it looks.
again many thanks for taking time to reply

Personally I think the colors are a little harsh, which takes away from the message of your site - which in this case is pretty important I would say. i would focus on developing a logo and then building the site colors around the logo. Remember, the site content always has to be the most important feature or people will not come back again and again, which is the main thing you ultimately want.

Thx again for reply. The only reason I am not going to change colours at present is things could get a lot worse!
I am self taught with html and java script and have been using shareware packages. Over the years I have added pages when neccesary. The problem is only half of the formatting for say colours in actually in my css file. The rest in each page. As there are at present 66 pages this will take some time. I have only just finished updating and am dreaded doing it again.
I am determined however to take the positive vote of C H A N G E from you all.
Again many thx for taking time to reply.

AB, check out the Graphics Resources sticky at the top of this forum for color palettes. There are a few sites listed that will help you get a good palette.
For this I would think something neutral would be best.

Maybe you could change the colors.. It's a little to harsh for me too... Get a little combination with that orange shade...

i think the colors are too bright and too strong. maybe you can lower the saturation or contrast in it. maybe because i prefer looking at something that is comfortable instead of hurting my eyes.

So how did you set it up? You're not sharing a style sheet for all the pages?

Ok the new image helped more.
Yeah those colors are a bit too dark. You may want to lighten them up a bit or use some lighter colors.
