It is ok, stands out a bit to much for the website.
Although it was nicely done through fireworks.

If that logo will only be for web use, I suppose it's ok. But if their are any future intentions for print (Real world) use (E.G. business cards, letter heads, stationary, etc.), it needs to be reworked.
Gradients in logos for print is a big No-No.

Just don't use gradients. A good rule of thumb is to design for solid Black & White first for a logo. If it looks good as black & White, then add color. By doing it that way it helps prep the logo for both web & print usage (Granted a logo is best done in Vector).

I've never heard of gradients being a problem for printing. Where did you read this?
Maybe, and I mean 'maybe', it can be problematic for t-shirts, but that's about it.
I don't think the gradient works on that logo anyways, but thats besides the point (;

Online gradients are fine in logos, but honestly, how many gradient saturated letterheads, business cards, & Stationary do you see daily? I don't see much at all & the ones I do see are from very small companies that haven't caught on to what the large corporations are doing in simplicity yet.
Not to mention, gradients cause more color variation on the print press & as we all know, more color = more money!
It seems that the most popular logos in USA anyways are simplistic, Brandable, & have no added effects in the majority of the businesses day to day usage.
Now T-shirts is a different story all together, you have the professional Polo shirts with a simplistic logo embroidered on the front & then you have the Effects saturated & gradient T-shirts targeting a whole different crowd.
In my opinion, a simplistic logo that can stransfer to black & white is more professional & practical in today's business world. No need to have to read about it when I see it every where i go from, business cards, restaurant menus, Letterheads, Fax covers, Brochures, Stationary, Product packaging, Movies Credits that roll after its over, etc., etc. the list goes on.
I'm not saying a gradient saturated logo can't be printed, just that its not very practical or professional for real world usages.
Just my 2 cents

Okay well you're going back on forth on logo design criteria and printing quality and I'm saying gradients for print isn't a bad thing. Except maybe for t-shirts and by that I mean generally, clothing print jobs. The nozzles on the machine deposit the dye differently and the material that is being printed takes the dye differently and acts a whole lot different than paper.
There are certain things to keep in mind when dealing with gradients for a (paper) print job, price not really being one of them. A 4 color job is going to cost them same whether there are gradients or not, at least that has been the case for me. The biggest problem you'll ever have to deal with is the gradation level and how many colors your gradient incorporates. Whether the gradation is color to color, color to alpha... It always comes down to the details and only a printer will be able to tell you if their machine can handle it or not. Most can.

Its not a problem really, but the problem might kick in with the type of printing system been used. It could not only spoil the gradient yet, the whole quality of the logo.
