The software scrapes several of the top video sharing sites for data like:
•Number of comments
•Number of views
•Number of favorites
•“Star” rating

Scraping is essentially downloading and parsing a video details page for the purpose of tracking effectiveness of videos. The software has a database of “regex”, or regular expressions, which are small chunks of code like variables. Using these, it can effectively download a video page, parse through, and take only the data needed.

Purpose
Anyone who has marketed using online video as media before will know that it can get a bit crazy if you are running multiple campaigns etc. You need to know which videos are actually getting viewed, which people like, and if not, why?
Let’s say that you have 2 campaigns going:
1.Work at home
2.Car insurance

For each campaign, you post 3 videos to 10 video sharing sites (a rather low number of sites with current auto posting software). If it takes you an average of 30 seconds to visit each video page and record the stats in a spreadsheet, then you will spend 15 minutes for each time you want to track stats.
With viral videos, you may want to check stats as often as once a day, which means almost 2 hours a week tracking stats. For something a little less trafficked that you check once a week, that means 13 hours a year are spent checking stats.

Ramp that up a notch to match what a fulltime video marketer does:
•10 campaigns
•3 videos each
•Posted to 15 sites
•With more experience, they cut down stats checking to 15 seconds a page

That brings each stat checking session to a solid 2 hours!
If an expert only checks once a week, that is still 104 hours of unnecessary work a year!

Reporting:
Data will be reported in a convenient fashion.
I want to track effectiveness of campaigns over time with a graphing system (so stats have to will be logged on a day to day or week to week basis). A dynamic graph engine will allow you to compare videos, compare campaigns, etc.

Usage:
There will be a separate screen to manage campaigns/videos.
I post my 3 videos onto video sharing sites, and paste in the direct links of the video sites to my video. The software will look at the domain, see that it is YouTube, check it against the database to see the scraping rules, and then scrape all of the required data off of YouTube, logging and placing the values into the table.

Extra Functionality
The software will also contain these standard features:
•Easy Updating of regular expressions – From the backend, I make the regex change and when they start the program they are prompted to make the update. It will be a "soft" update so no reinstall is made, just an updated database, which makes the program extremely easy to use, with no reinstalls (unless a major upgrade)
•Licensing – To prevent pirating, which means more sales via affiliates and JV partners.
•Encryption and Obfuscation – Also to prevent pirating.

Price
I am not yet sure what the prelaunch price will be, but I am thinking $97. If the product sells well ( I have good faith ), I will raise the price ONLY after letting JVs know, so they can blast the list with scarcity claims.

Commissions will be 60%, although I am open to other deals. I will be surveying all the JV partners with price and commission info later.
