Giving credit to the owner will always have a positive impact.
Just get the permission before doing that.

Copying a blog post without the owners permission is unethical and is a recipe for disaster. You will ruin your reputation and run the risk of action being taken against you and your site. If you want to copy content, there are a ton of places you can LEGALLY copy content. Do a search for "article directory" and you'll find thousands of articles you can copy. Usually, all you have to do is include the author's bio box and links and you're free to use the article on your site.

If you don't want to go that route, buy a PLR pack and use those articles. There are a ton of places you can buy PLR articles and you can use them however you want on your site.

What you are proposing to do is not only copyright infringment, but is also unethicle. What if you were that person, and they stole your blog posts, what would you do

I have had someone do this to me and I am in the process of asking them to take it down. IF they don't I will take the matter to Google via the DMCA

http://www.google.com/dmca.html

Why would you want to steal something someone else has written?
