US and Gambling Affiliate

I have a question that I really hope somebody a bit more informed on myself can shed some light on.

I had a few poker sites that I signed up as an affiliate a long time ago. Basically, I signed up.. got a few sign-ups way back when and basically forgot about them for the most part.

Well after this new law with the United States and online gambling I remembered about this affiliate accounts I had and I checked up on them and low and behold I made a few bucks. Nothing to brag about but in three old accounts I accumulated a few hundred dollars.

Is it technically legal for a US Citizen to be a poker affiliate because they have the shared rake plan where basically you as an affiliate get a commision of the rake taken from poker pots. So in essence, I'm kind of actually getting a cut from wagers.

Anyone know the actually legality of this?

I think that poker is the exception to the rule, but all other form of gambling is not allowed.

Are you sure that poker is exception? I think the law changed for all forms of online gambling. But currently some people are fighting back to reallow the online betting. So wait and see.
