Is it legal to use torrent proxy sites

I found some proxy sites which allow me to access all those torrent trackers which have been blocked by my ISP.
But, is it legal to use those proxy sites, as they display the original content under a different domain.

I know it is not legal to download movies etc. i just would like to know if it is illegal if i visit those proxy sites. Will my ISP ban me??

Thanks for your help, great forum!

I am using 3-4 different sites, the best one is [removed] with proxy sites of almost every big torrent tracker.
You could also use a VPN Browser Plugin, like FreeMyBrowser, this will allow you to access the blocked sites without using a proxy site.

The torrent proxy sites are not to hide your ip, they display content of big torrent trackers. They are kind of a clone. If you take a look at TorrentsProxy for example, you can see a list of torrent proxys.
There are hundrets of PirateBay mirrors for example, so the GOV can not take the site down because there are more than 100 mirrors out there.

It isn't illegal if that's your question but the behaviour involved on these websites are usually malicious and illegal activity will be going on I'd say 80%+ of the time.

It all depends what you are doing when you enter the website.

It depends on the law of the country you're in. Some countries like Singapore are very strict & some others are more liberal. But I don't suppose there's any harm in just visiting one of these sites, as long as you're not down or uploading anything. And I don't think you'll get banned by your ISP either for just visiting. If anything they'll probably just let you off with a warning.
