A site has copied my exact html code

Hey guys,

I was just searching on Google when I came across my exact site registered with a different domain name:

my site: structuredsettlement-quotes.com
Copy site: structuredsettlement-quote.com (without the s)

They took my source code and copied it exactly. I am pretty sure this is hurting my rankings.

What do I do?

I tried calling the hosting company but they are closed. Will they remove this site?

Can I contact google some how?

I've never filed a DMCA notice myself, but have heard of others who have that have been successful.

I would make some improvements to your version of the site so it is more relevent and more uptodate than the copy.

I filed a DMCA notice with Google and then emailed it to the email address listed in the sites who is data. He removed it within 12 hours. Thanks for the help

I usually went through the whois and then contacted the person directly..!!

DMCA notice works well. I had to use it when soemone stole my entire privacy and legal text and simply replaced the company name. Person backed down.
