it really piss me off those guy stealing stuff and pretending they are the real authors !

whenever i copy something i specify where it comes from

i did'nt know it was copyright violation to do changes into a text

has a copy of one of my articles, word for word, same heading, even has my name on it, BUT they have swapped out a few words, like they have done a search and replace for some keywords......

I did not hear anyone that has been sued for stealing articles.. I heared someone who got sued due to libel..

It is all relative really. I mean if you copy directly out of a book without the correct credit given do you not get hit for plagiarism?

The intellectual property laws apply whether it is digital content or written on paper. You do not hear much about it in the digital sense because most people take the stuff down before it gets that far.

I hate it as well stealing is stealing to me no matter what is taken or used.

Unfortunately, with the rapid growth of websites and the ease of infringements and the ability of anonymity it is sometimes harder to enforce IP laws. Use programs like Copyscape and be sure to properly notify any hosting site of IP violations.

well, its not new. And its still happening to me. I was assigned to handle one of our main sites. And since this site is has PR 4, have good keywords and great articles. Their main problem since then is that the articles being copied by other bloggers without a due consent to the resource. Yep, these blogger copied all the way to the top including the title of the blog. Well my task is to find these kind of bloggers. And I just started yesterday. And guess what? I found 9 articles being copied yesterday and another 9 today. All of them (except 2 links) coming from one link [url removed]. I reported it to yahoo and google.
All i can say to everyone is that watch out and try to do some research for your site, who knows, maybe someone has copied your original article.

I have stuff stolen all the time. At one time it pissed me off but now it does it. I have threads stolen allthe time also.

This is a nice link. At least they are accepting these kind of complaints. Im not sure if its true that google can block a URL?

Google can block or ban anything they find in violation of their rules. as a matter of fact they can block or ban anyone for anything remotely illegal in any sense if they choose to. They run the largest and most valuable search engine at the present time.

wow, its nice to hear google could do all this. At least there is hope for people with "stolen articles" or other stuffs from their websites.
