off topic here but,

guy opens a site that has pornographic materials on it.

he writes out a warning page for the front page warning that you must be over the age of 18 to enter like all other sites do.

i read the law states the sites with nudity and pornographic content must have a "MUST BE 18" to enter page.

i see some of them require a birthdate to be entered before they can enter.

others require you to type your name.

this guy just puts a disclaimer on the enter page.

is he safe?

is that all there is to it?

write out a warning page, throw it on the entrance, and you're good?

what else is there to it?

my site is similar to a thumbnail page that focuses on extreme porn so as soon as you enter all you see is extreme pornographic materails and hundreds of thumbnailed images...very extreme.

im an affiliate of each thumbnail but most of the thumbnails come from about only 15 sites total. everytime you click a thumbnail it takes you to a dotcom site where the image OR video you clicked on is at with a sample movie and sample pics.

if someone buys then i get paid a commision from all 15 sites.

im planing on large amounts of traffic and wanted to protect myself from being responsible for anything anyone sees.

"my son saw 12 men doing graphic and evil s****al acts to a women" type of thing.

how do i make myself safe when operating a site that sells porn?

You have to be careful with this stuff. There are a few things to consider.

It is now a law (Federal law 18 USC 2257) that you keep records of all models portrayed in a sexual way proving at the time of photography they where over 18 years old.

You also have to make some sort of an effort so children will not be exposed to the material. Yes it is impossible to stop children typing a wrong year in to bypass you age detection system, but in a court it will look better if you have tried.

In general you should be fine. Porn is a subject not many people want to take to court (unless it is harming minors or rape, etc) over minor things because it's seen as dirty and more people who see it who don't want will just leave and never mention it again.

But there are always the one offs. Just cover you back and put a warning page on the entrance. Also submit your website to adult censors such as Bernardo's (I think it is) dreaming your site as inappropriate for children.

Read up on adult webmasters sites and google. So long as you can prove the models are not copyrighted images (affliate will be okay) and over 18 you're fine.

Oh wait, one other thing, make sure it's legal to publish porn in your state/country

you can't completely stop people
under 18 to enter such sites.
they can lie, use somebody else's name or credit card.

you can install spyware and adware so when they come of the dirty sites it keeps poping porn on the desk top... soon enough there mother will find it =)

You can't stop people from lying ther date of birth, but sure if you get sued about exposing adult matherials to minors, you will have this backup and probably win the case.
