You are stepping into expensive territory here.
I used to own an image or photo bank, and the use of photos are general sold on a per use bases, and the more popular the actor the more money it costs to use their image.
A typical way to buy an image would be state how many times the image will be used, with a printed book, this would be how many books you were going to print, then were you going to use any image on the front or back cover of the book, then were you going to use any of the pictures in advertising for the book, and believe me we aren't talking a few cents per use we'd often sell rights for one image for very small runs for several hundred dollars each. For the sort of ebook you are talking about, you are quite likely to be talking in the millions just for photos, we once sold the rights to use a photo that was for a business presentation, it would only be shown once in front of less than 100 people, and the price was $450, it was an excellent photo, but still.....
There are photobanks that have royalty free images, but they don't generally have photos of movie or music stars.
You could of course steal the photos off the web, but that would cost you multi millions of dollars when the stars found there image being used without their premission or them recieving royalty's... thats how they make their money. Then of courseyou would have the website owner sueing you too.... You would be far better off to write a book about worm farming, or chichen rearing and take all your own photos.
