AP photos on a Blog

Hello,

I am considering starting a wordpress blog about Barack Obama, I know alot of pictures of him are taken by the Associated Press, does anyone know if these photos are free for the public to post on blogs or would I face the same legal issues as any other images I acquired off the net?

What is the standard deal for posting images on a blog, is it enough to give the place you got it credit and include a backlink or do I need to get permission from the site first?

Do I need his permission to use a photo of him or his likeness? Does it make a difference if I use it satirically or in seriousness?
