Question Marketing budget

Two questions that I would love to hear your thoughts on. For a small business starting on a small marketing budget, do you think allocating $1,000 will produce any results? Is that too small?

it depends on your target, your expectations, how efficiently you will spend it.

I mean, if your target is to sell luxury products in a competitive field, then $1,000 in marketing is not even quite close.
On a far less competitive local targeted market, it might do the job

First, what kind of business are you planning to set up? On which venue (online or offline) would you want to invest it on? Those are some questions that would have made your query more answerable

As long as your planning on an information base business or providing services (in other words not stocking inventory) and you will be doing most of the work yourself. I would say this is plenty to start with. You can build a website with site build it for around $300, then you have $700 to advertise I wouldn't bother with making it legal untill It starts producing a profit.
