Stuck at a Traffic Plateau

My website has plateaued in traffic.
I started my site in August of 2007. It now gets an avg of 400-430 uniques/day according to google analytics.

My ad budget is about $130-$200 a month and I just use adwords gives about 680-800 hits a month is all there. So I never know if I'm just throwing my money away on it or not. I put a question at checkout "where did you hear about us" but 1 in 50 people actually write anything and they always just say google but not if its an adwords.

Currently my traffic is coming from the following sources using this months stats.

Referring Sites 10,660.00 (75.27%)
Search Engines 2,214.00 (15.63%)
Direct Traffic 1,288.00 (9.09%)

Its obvious I tapped the referral market well, I do have DECENT seo done. I
would not consider myself a pro at it but I feel Ive done the best I can. I may have the tendency to choose too popular of a keyword but never compared the results to a very specific unique one.

I would just like any advice from others who have gotten "stuck" in their traffic growth.

Those are just a couple I mean is that a good CTR? I never notice month to month but looking at this all time figure 2000 bucks for 12000 clicks seems not so fair lol.

Not sure what is your site about.

First of all if you sell anything, you can always track the conversion setting the script Google gives.

Since referring sites doing well for you, you can explore more sites in your niche. Blogs, forums, websites anything related would be great. Hire somebody do those marketing for you.

Have you considered using classified ads sites? It could also help you.

I don't know what niche your site is in, but it's possible that you're maxed out. I sold a site earlier this year that was devoted to a market niche that used to pay really big bucks for Adsense clicks.

I had the #1 spot on Google for the key search term and I held that position for more than a year. It was worth a whopping 25 visitors a day.

I'm not sure that there was anything I could do to increase traffic. When the #1 spot in Google is worth 25 visitors a day, you're not going to get 500 visitors a day no matter what you do.

It's possible that your site is in the same boat.

That is like a perfect market for video advertising on youtube. Tell me you have a youtube account, right?? I can think of hundreds of ways to market you site on youtube.

I do have a youtube account and some video game preview videos hosted through there. About 12 same with msn soapbox about 12 there too. So do you think I should spend 2 days and upload the entire sega saturn preview collection and have 100 links hosted on there pointing to my site for them? LOL or if you know of other good ways Id love to try it

Traffic plateaus are a normal occurance. When it plumits is when you have to worry. You need to look at new traffic sources without neglecting the sources you have. Let's face it, social networking is the new and it doesn't fit most niches....yours can fit with the video game dvd's.

Yea I think that is a source I have completely under estimated. I just made a new youtube account under my websites name and am uploading various video previews for popular games and in the descriptions , title and keywords adding my website into it. I think this will be a nice way to pull in an extra 100-200 visitors a day if I upload a 100 videos of popular game previews.
