Brandable name for domain needed, short and sweet
I need a short and sweet name that is fairly brandable, the domain name will be for a directory/community in a non-English speaking Euorpean country. Not Sweden.
I'm counting on your help.

Romanian, but that doesn't really matter. I need something, perhaps Latin-sounding, short, sweet and to the point. In fact, it doesn't even really need to mean anything, might be even better if it's a totally new word that can be given a meaning.

I've had several Romanian friends. Let me do a little thinking about this. Any specific theme that you can let us know?

Yeah - I'd like to hear a little more. Like, age group involved, etc.

I was thinking something aimed at the general web surfer, not really niched or anything. As I said, the meaning of the word doesn't really matter that much, I think it'd be easier for me to brand it as a distinct product/service if it didn't. Not to say that a great name with a meaning wouldn't do, just looking to expand the horizon for alternatives.

I don't know why... "unimack.com" sounds like "Macintosh university" to me.
Not that I dislike Macs but I'm not sure that's what he was looking for.
Marcel, I don't know how you'll like the followings... I just made them up and they are not taken yet.

sakeni.com
oprina.com
koripa.com
nilame.com

Hope they don't sound like anything that exist already.
Hey, I like doing that... making up words

Joanie, agreed about unimack sounding like Macintosh... Great names there, hehe, really nice!
Don't worry if the .com's are taken, there are several TLD's I can use and it's not imperative that it's a .com.
Can you come up with more? Would be great if you could come up with a great three or four-letter name.

OK, let's see, three letters it's going to be hard, but maybe four...
I like the sound of these, and I didn't check for availability...
 inek
 lian
 tumi
 poyl
 xora
Hope you like these, they might not be as good as before, personally I like 3 syllables words (6 letters), maybe because there are more possibilities.

For some reason Latin has struck me:
malo malle malui to wish rather, prefer, to be more favorable to
macto are
radix foundation, basis, origin, a root; the foot of a mountain
risio laughter
fama talk , report, rumor, tradition; public opinion; standing in public opinion, repute
fama est there is a rumor
fas divine command or law; fate , destiny
fas est it is allowed, it is lawful
vah oh! ah!

Tumi might be kind of difficult to use. There's a fairly popular brand of luggage called Tumi, and a British music label called Tumi.

I know he asked for Latin sounding words but I don't know latin so I just made up the words hoping one will interest him.
It seems one did

Well I didn't know that.
Sorry Marcel, maybe there's another one you'll like too.

I can make use of trademarked names. It'd be up to a court of law to decide whether I infringe on the trademark owner's product/service. Until they do, I can use them.

*giggle* It's not the trademark I'd be worried about. Unless you are in the same or similiar line of business, or you are using the name in an offensive manner, then trademark won't be able to do much against you. The Tumi luggage line is apparantly really popular. I'd look to see how competitive that word is first.

Not sure they've made it to Romania yet.

I don't think this would really be a problem. Could become one, but I don't forsee this happening.
