RIA Store Front

Hi!

New to this Forum so I hope this topic is posted in the right section.

Basicly I want to get some feedback. I am thinking of building a RIA (Rich Internet Application) Store Front or more simple put, I want to build a Flash Store Front. But not a Flash site, where when you enter there is 1+ min intro and the site is full of fade-in-out, transition, and that sort of effect, which results in a unusable page, but I want to use flash so that the store front would be more useable for the costumers, more interactive and there would not be any page reloading. I am thinking of something like the Flex Store sample on macromedia.com. You can see it here http://www.macromedia.com/software/f...oductinfo/roi/.

So tell me what you think? Would this work? Would customers do shopping at a Store of this type? Would you?

The disadvantage about using a flexstore is that your customer needs to have macromedia on his computer.... I know i dont although i have been here for a long while on the net. But that would mean that you cut out a part of your potential customers that would otherwise have visited your site.

You don't have a Flash Player installed?

I think that looking at the penetration rate as published by Macromedia this should not be so big of a problem. In March 2004 the rate was 98% according to Macromeda. You can view the full numbers here http://www.macromedia.com/software/p...netration.html.
