Seeking an alternative to Adwords.

I own a domain which has a slightly controversial name. It is controversial only because it has the word "crappy" in the domain. This is in reference to a product being the cheapest it can possibly be. Which is exactly what some customers want now-a-days, low budget and low quality.

The website and the products are in no way controversial. I sell specialized small replacement parts for musical instruments.

Now, I was raised to believe that using substitute words for bad language was acceptable. Examples would be; heck, darn, dang, shoot, and of course, crap. I've always understood it as a polite way of pointing to a foul word without actually using the foul word.

Google Adwords has disapproved my ad, apparently because of inappropriate language in the domain, (it is not used in the ad text.) Well, actually they wouldn't tell me why, but I feel certain this is the only thing wrong with the ad. There are no trademarked names, no poor grammar, nor otherwise illegal or offensive content used in the ad.

The reason I am here is to ask for suggestions of where I can advertise my company without being banned. I need to get customers to the site.

Thanks for any help.

(PS. I will not change the domain name. I've already got too much invested into tax ID's, fictitious name filings, ssl certs, logo art, product silk screening, and so forth.)

Buy a secondary domain name - lay it on top of the other - not a problem -

I don't think Adwords tolerates landing pages that redirect. Do they?

You dont have to redirect the 2nd domain just setup an alias so that both domain names share the same webspace.

You could use YPN, Microsoft AdCenter, Clicksor, or Adbrite. But I don't think anyone of them is a good alternative to Adwords, but they are close to Adwords than any other. Also has anyone tried FaceBook ads here? If so, please share your experiences here. Personally, I think they should be crap, You sell products to people on a Social Networking site? LOL!

Can't quite figure out your market niche from the post.

Also consider clickbank, adtoll and direct link purchases on sites that migh have visitors in your niche.

The latter will take a lot more work on your part but may yield the greatest rewards over time. You will be laying out all the cash upfront but should be able to buy links on music sites cheap. I suspect most of them would be happy to cover their hosting fees.

If you want to PM me the domain name I may have another suggestion which I can post in reply or here in the thread.

I find that depending on the audience MSN converts better than adwords at times. But always has less traffic than the big G.
