Well, if you want to market or promote your anime site, you can try to build partnership with popular anime sites and as what renlok suggested above, it's good way to promote your anime site by simply participating in different anime-related forums. In that way, you can redirect your targeted audience to your site through your signature. Actively and properly participating in those forums will surely enhance the identity/reputation of your anime site.
You can also make a blog. Write more keyword-rich content and topics that are related with your niche then submit your blog posts in some social bookmarking sites. It will help us to improve your site's online visibility and it will act as supplements to your website's marketing needs.
And by the way, since your niche is all about anime, visitors will somehow expect to see some flash on you website (like me). I suggest you to put a little flash intro in your site(hompage) to make it more catchy but be sure not to overdo it.
