Email Marketing = Best ROI?
Hi all,
It has been said that email marketing has been proven to return the highest ROI, over PPC and social media..
How many run an email marketing campaign? If you have, what have you found?

Hmmm... the highest you say? I guess it depends on the strategy/approach different people use when it comes to email marketing. Mostly are just spammers scattering their ads to thousands of emails, which makes a lot of people these days ignore newsletters even if they provide important info. I'd still go for PPC and social media

The ROI can really vary with email marketing campaigns. The list must be targeted and not abused. If you email too frequently you can hurt the return, if the email list is not targeted many will not have an interest which will hurt the ROI.

Good points, I believe the most important factors in email marketing include:
1) Target your list - have your subscribers signup for your newsletter
2) Include relevant info and call-to-action links, exclude spam
3) Don't deliver too frequently

Aren't email marketing nowadays are treated or looks more like a spam? So ROI isn't that effective anymore.

I think this really depends on the person running the campaign. If the person already has a great list, then that is golden. If someone without a list jumps into it, it might just get regarded as spam and tossed out. How many times have you actually opened and read an email that felt like someone was trying to sell you something?

I think article marketing give the highest return. Email also does but don't as much as article does. Fact is your ROI largely depends on the decision, strategies you have taken in doing business.

I think it all depends on your process an goals.
I read a stat lately that said open rates are at 20% on emails as an average. Compare that to very small CTRs on banners.
The problem I see is that getting a process in place and getting a list that you can count on is the hard part. It's hard, especially for large companies, to start with a Business-to-Business Email Marketing Strategy.
Cheers!

if it is your list and the people are targeted
also if you've build a relationship with them. Then the ROI
will be very good.

Email marketing absolutely has the potential to have the highest ROI... for one thing, that's because the initial investment is so small. For another thing, many studies have shown that the cost per acquisition of a new customer is significantly lower with email marketing than with any other strategy, including direct mail and PPC.
It's all about building an effective, permission based list. As some other people on here have mentioned.

Really? I never read those marketing mails. The quality of the mailing list is very important. If they are targeted, the ROI will be better.

Email marketing and your return on investment largely depends the way you use them. As marketing exposure is all about making the product known to all so you need to do your email marketing and need to reach those people who are interested in your product. Doing so you may make a good ROI.
