Yahoo does help with your ranking on yahoo search engines and you make sure that there would be a good incoming link to your website. So I think one should go for it if he/she can afford to.

I don't understand PR etc, I don't maintain a web site so what is of value is not within my understanding. I just wanted to point out that however nice a listing is in DMOZ submission to DMOZ does not mean a listing. The directory tries to build categories based on what a surfer might want to find and the submissions are only one source that we use to do that. That means that a submission to DMOZ can be ages before a review and we do not inform anyone if a site is still waiting, rejected or accepted.

Sorry folks but that is how it works and I just wanted to add this so that readers don't start scurrying off submitting a site to DMOZ and then getting cross because we don't deal with it in the way many directories do. Please submit, but then forget.

Completely agree with the youtube suggestion, rather than wasting money on yahoo directory use that money to create effective videos and upload it on youtube to get more traffic. It is more worth than yahoo directory.

i thinks Yahoo directory Submission is very Expediencies to me and i can't afford to submit my one site for something $299 per year. and there are so many Free Directory out their we can submit in it free

Google says buying links is bad (unless you are using their adwords program of course) Yahoo directory is one of the very few that dmoz is in competition with from what webmasters have told me it really helps position in yahoo serps. Kev could be right though Google may frown on paying for a directory listing.

There is no 100% than your website will be listed after you pay money to yahoo, it sounds kinda risky you pay and didn't get listed.

Exactly, there is no need to take rick in paying yahoo directory, while there are many better options, tactics are available.
