My idea too, and pay out very regulary with no mistakes.

Then there are affiliate program websites and directories if I am correct, make sure you get on those.

Contact potential websites that can affiliate with you with a personalized email, or phonecall, and give them a good reason to promote your product - eg. good commission but more importantly great conversion rate, good linking material, good help and support, etc.

Research sites that you'd love to have promoting your product, then contact them.

My program leads in three ways.

The primary method is offer the opportunity straight and make the prospect realize it’s free to join, no obligation, no fees.

The secondary method is to offer a free pack – a book, a tape, a CD – and not just junk stuff – a pack worth having – and backend them with a free trial of the opportunity. Prospects also realize that the will be able to recruit their own affiliates giving away the free pack.

The third is a tertiary method offering a unique gateway of profiles which promotes the “lifestyle� benefits of running a home business – the 30 second commute, and some “testimonial� stories.

Depending how you market, one way tends to work better than the others, but all have proven to be effective.

Sell a quality product/service & Promote, Promote, Promote.
You have a tremendous amount of competition, just look at
Commission Junction, LinkShare, etc.

I do affiliate program promotion for a living, for about 15 affiliate programs, so I can share that some of the affiliate forums allow a free program announcement. Also you should pay affiliate announce to list you in the all the affiliate directories.
