SMS Spam

Yesterday I have received a message from a private number 09***********, not a number from the operator e.g. 8888, and it contained an advertisement for his website. I have searched around and I don't think I have heard or read about people advertising through SMS. considering how cheap SMS services are and how high tech cell phones are nowadays (you can access almost everything like that of a PC), would it be a good idea to advertise through SMS? is there such service or option in your country where you can pay them and advertise your website?

There has been some discussions, I think it even reached the senate from where I am at, on how spammy or irritating promo messages are, well, I have received some promos and like what I have said ad advertisement from a private number and it did seem quite not trustworthy, I even replied to that number but I didn't get any text back... would you visit a website if you received it in your cell phone or something?

By doing so, it will only encourage them to send more advertisements. The only thing we can do is to ignore and delete their text messages.

I do not visit any website that sends me a message to my cell phone. I just delete the message right away and do not reply. If you reply back then they gotcha sucked in and will keep sending you stuff.

Try to find a website phone number or contact information on the website somewhere and get in touch with the marketing staff. Tell them you want off there list...etc and see if that works. I get a few messages about mortage rates and i don't own a house but rent. LOL
