Is it a good idea to start SEO related forum?

For a long term plan is it a good idea to start SEO related forums like V7N, DigitalPoint etc.?

If yes, then which scripts would you suggest - vBulletin, phpBB, Simple Machines or any other ?

I know the current members of this site won't go there but the idea is to attract the newbies as these sites might did few years ago.

vBullein will cost you, but there are many free php bulletin boards that will meet your needs. I think you can save money and get by with a free board for now, and with good posts and articles, you may attract some people interested in it. Best of Luck.

There are already dozens of seo forums, so I don't see it's necessary of making another one, unless you have a lot of seo knowledge and can help people answering seo questions from the forum.

It doesn't matter how many other forums out there, If you are willing to put the work in you WILL succeed.

Okay, I'm not trying to sound like Tony Robbins or anything like that - I'm just saying it like it is.

And I'd reccomend vBulletin, But that's only if you're willing to pay. Otherwise, many free options are available for you (I can't think of any right now, my mind is blank).

But yes, If you make the opening of your site sometihng special, much like the opening of a new restaurant, you'll leave a good, lasting impression.

I'm no expert, but if you want help wit hanything just let me know.

Start a forum on topic on which you have good knowledge and you can manage and write good topics on that area

if newbies can learn a lot from your points, i think it can attract more fresh men ~
