Anchor Text Suggestions and Tips
I want to get some opinions on this and start a good conversation. Please only reply based on experience and knowledge.
When optimizing a certain page for a keyword, do you normally use the same anchor text for the link to the page or switch up the anchor?
Whats the best strategy for anchor text when building one way backlinks? What do you guys think?

Using only one anchor text for your link will start to reduce it's value over time, so it's good to switch them around every once in awhile.

I use those anchor text for which i wish to Rank in Google. This process also looks more natural.
I also use the URL of site few times.
Deep linking is also important.Don't always promote your homepage.

Good point on deep-linking. Make sure you're linking into the deeper parts of your website.

Right, agreed with deep linking, but Im not sure about always using the same anchor text, that may hurt your rankings as Google may see it as spam, having the same link anchor text 1000 times, maybe not. Still testing that myself.

You don't want to target too many different keywords to the same page, confuse the engines.

I usually switch it up as it appears more "natural" to the search engines and less contrived.

I'm still confused. I want to clear up my mind. In using backlinks, is it better to use different "keywords" as anchor text for my site url or use only one keyword?

It's better to use a few. It's more natural. Also you can rank for these keywords rather than putting it all on the line for one.

You should be very clear about using those keywords which are just relevant to your content and fully adhere the integrity of your landing pages. In simple words, choose a keyword according to your page and content over there. Targeting one or two or even few keywords is quite fine but your page must speak out the same as of your keywords in anchor text.
However, for your homepage you may target few keywords those are quite relevant and broad keywords. Accordingly, write up the content for your homepage and go on with keywords to anchor which are giving clear preview of your content/services/products etc.

In addition you should make sure the content of the landing page should be quite relevant to the anchor text.

In creating anchor text, use your target keywords that you want to rank higher in SERP.

Using your keyword for anchor text will be fine, but there are some exceptions to the rule. If you have a unique company name and you will use it a keyword and anchor text definitely you are already rank 1 without optimizing it. If this happens try to research other keywords that are relevant to your website.
