It can be good for marketing but a lot of people are tired of seeing all the spam all over the YouTube videos.

What kind of camera do you use? I use 3 different cameras - a canon powershot D10 waterproof camera for filming in bad weather, a Canon SD750 for standard 640X480 video and a JVC camcoder for wide screen format.

Then uploading 100+ meg videos will time out a lot of times. Sometimes I have to upload the same video 2 or 3 times before it finally goes.

i liek watchign youtube vids as well i have some uploaded right now, but they are just more for ppl enjoyment i dont make money off of them.

YouTube days are over. I think the spam level is too high and it is tough to get people to watch your videos when your trying to sell them something or SEO your links.

No but if you follow someyoutube tactics. you are able to drive many traffic to your site.

I don't know if I can post my youtube marketing videos here but it works pretty well, not only on youtube

Ok the 50 tactics are pretty good for newbies except a few ones:

9. Make sure you have good camera and editing equipment. If you don't want to
sink the money into these things, consider hiring a professional.

You don't need to buy a good camera or editing equipment if you just buy stock images.

35. Do not make your video an ad. In other words, get a point across but do it
without trying to sell something.

I agree with you, you need make people dream and get to the point at the same time.

43. Stick to your target audience. Don't try to branch out too far from your
purpose, or you could easily lose loyal followers.

You can extend your target audience pretty far depending of the subject(s)

I am not a professional in video editing, but all you said on your e-book that's what I did naturally, and it seems like I used basic common sense

I visited youtube just to watch anime then I saw many spam videos which are titled on my search but the content of the video are nuts. I wish there will be alternative way to watch high quality and non spammy videos. If I were youtube if I want to bring back my popularity I will create a team to check all the uploaded videos and remove videos that are considered as spam.

Youtube is not going to go away anytime soon, and will probably continue to grow, if at a slightly slower pace than say this year, given the fascination with new social sites like twitter and facebook. It's still a good marketing idea to get some youtube videos out there (and reproduce them on other video sites, too, such as vimeo, metacafe, etc.).

If you do not have time, then often still images can have just the same effect, of a little animation is used. Windows movie maker is sufficient for a 2-3 minute video which includes your brand, website and clear contact information - simply for a vertical search purpose. If you don't do it, someone else will - and it may be a disgruntled customer, so always worth the punt.
