have you tried LookSmart recently? I have and they were rubbish. tons of traffic that did not convert.

Looksmart was good till msn went live with their new directory, I wouldn't use them any more.
Overture and Google ad words are the only two that have any impact. IMO

Here is a PPC (Pay Per Click) Relationship Chart I created that I use as a guideline for my clients so they can determine which PPC SE they should be using.

PPC (Pay Per Click) Relationship Chart

Google and Overture are the best and have a broader audience but do require a bigger budget to get good results.

Adwords is the best. A properly executed adword campaign is priceless. Google pays for relativity... so make your search realtive! You can actually get top ranks by paying less.

Contact me if you need help... I hae worked on MANY adword campaigns..

My top three are the exact same as Shawn Steele...I have also had some success with Espotting in the UK.

I have tried many of the others, including Looksmart, Kanoodle, Clicksor, Fastclick, etc... and they delivered negative ROI and poor quality traffic-

Overture gives me the best ROI, while Adwords' ROI is not quite as good but delivers many more clicks and therefore more revenue.

My experience of PPC was pretty bad...

a lot of clicking and paying but little sales.

You think that it's going to be cheap as you can taylor the payments to your budget (well you can in Adwords) but before you know it you are competing against big companies with bigger budgets, and so your little 9p click won't really get you anywhere :-(

Next thing you know you're getting a nice chunky bill through each month!

I'd reccommend working on your site SEO - and building links with other sites rather than paying... keep it as a last resort.

Since learning about SEO and using the techniques on my site i am actually getting more hits, am higher on search engines, and pay nothing.
