My site is a few weeks old and I get very little traffic. I would like to ad a bookstore and other commercial sections to my site.

How much traffic do you need before adding a bookstore section to a site?

How muc traffic a day do you need to be profitable?

Well you could easily achieve a 2% sales rate. Right?

So figure out how much you could make based on your traffic and determine weather it's worth it or not.

How many visitors do you get now?

Today, about 25 a day and growing.

with 50 visitors/day (double what you have now) if your average order is $50 then you will make $50/day in sales.

It depends on the traffic...you can have 2000 sessions a day with no sales and then again depending on where the the 2000 sessions come from you could be getting a good share of the pie. It the target in which the sessions are coming from.

Man, there is so much more to this. Depends on the site. Depends on the cost to implement. Depends on the cost of the product (books, etc) If your site is growing, you can watch the growth rate and decide if it's worth the time and money in a few weeks or months. I think it's hard for anyone here to say for sure unless we know more about it.
