Question Selling Own Products or Someone's?

Hi all just wanna share here,

I am a 19 years old businessman , actually i've just started it a couple months ago, and the questions that have always struck me is what's better between selling someone's stuff ( become affiliator) which has better quality than my own products or selling my own stuff which apparently has limited quality and quantity? ( since i started it with very little captital)

For consideration, I am not lookin' for quick money but a long-term business' life. Can anybody share experience here?

First, let me congratulate you for being realistic
about your "long-terms" goals.

On your question about which is better - promote
your own or someone else's product? If you are
convinced that you have a good product (better
let someone else review it), then go ahead and
promote it. On the other hand, if you spend time
and learn the techniques of affiliate marketing,
I'm sure you would find many more "hot" highly
profitable products from ClickBank, Commision
Junktion and many others. It's much more
difficult to convince buyers online to buy your
own product without having established yourself
as an expert in the area you dealing with. The
choice is yours.

Cheers!

thank you for replying, you are the first one who commented on my thread.

First of all, i am really wondering about your words that saying ""hot" highly profitable products from clickbank" , i am one of the clickbank members and of course i do join their affiliate program. See, i don't think that ClickBank provides high quality products since their products are originated from their customers too, which in this case could be called as "vendor" , but actually the those vendors are actually ordinary people who fortunately have products to sell, and the most important thing is that i've been browsing all of the clickbank's products and i think they are no better than my crap products.

No Offense at all pal, just wanna share somethin'

Just a tip that i use daily when searching for clickbank products to perhaps buy or even promote. I use this site to check the stat's and also to check the newest clickbank vendor sites that get approved each day. http://cb-analytics.com/

That site is better to use then the actual clickbank marketplace. A lot of the clickbank products are bad and are even PLR products (u know the cheap design, crazy domain name..etc) but there are ones that are made from scratch with very good sales pages. It's not easy using clickbank since we the affiliates have to search and search for a good product to promote to our list or on our site that is not a total ripoff but will help them.

No offense taken at all, pal. We are just here to talk about
these things, aren't we?

When I say that there are "hot" selling products on ClickBank,
I mean just that. ClickBank dominates the affiliate marketplace
just as Google dominates the search engines marketplace.
Your success with ClickBank partly depends on your ability to
pick the right products; what I referred to as "hot." You may
choose your own word. snakeair provided a good tool for picking
those "hot" products. I admit there are plain crap in Clickbank
Marketplace, but there are also real cool stuff out there.

Since you're a ClickBank customer, perhaps you could also try
squeezing your "crappy products" in its marketplace and see
whether it will sell. Just a suggestion.

Cheers!

For long-term business success it's important that you believe in the quality of what you are selling. If you're just starting out find a product that interests you (not necessarily on clickbank) and sell/market it for awhile, you'll gain experience and knowledge while you work on making your own non crap products.

You need to take a toll of your strengths and weaknesses.

If you have a good knowledge of some domain, can pose an expert and build a product which matches what potential buyers need, you should concentrate on that, and employ affiliates to bring traffic to your website.

On the other hand if you are good at SEO and Internet Marketing, and you can get traffic to your affiliate sites quickly, you should use that strength to succeed in affiliate marketing.

If you do promote others products, just be aware of potential "leaks" that may be on their sales page such as opt-in forms among others.
