Offline Flyer Makes 100% People Visit Web Site (Real Case Study)

Hi,

This is how it worked for me. Local marketing, but very, very effective.

Scrape windsheilds in a parking lot and leave a flyer saying:

"We already made your car look better. Do you mind to get more good things done for you? Learn how we can care about you, and how you will benefit from it - www.YourWebSite.com"

Flyers are published on black'n'white printer. Windshield scrapping costs $1 at my place. Cheaper than many AdWords.

This is no brainer, but works like magic.

If you do not like the tip, don't reply to this post. Only positive critisism allowed.

Interesting idea.

I imagine that some people would actually be upset that someone touched their car though. I know several people that would even be angry about this even if a very good and careful job was done, and I think that it is possible that one or more of these types of people could cause you some significant trouble over it.

Some states have actual laws about putting flyers on cars because many people HATE them on their car and end up throwing them in the parking lots.

I remember reading a case where a small business owner had to pay $10,000.00 to someone because he got in a car accident and blamed the flyer on the windshield. Supposedly he didn't notice it prior to driving away. I personally don't believe the flyer was at fault, but he won the case.

I will however agree that getting out there and spreading the word personally does wonders, it WILL NOT guarantee that you will get 100% of the people to go to your website. What are the stats you are basing this information on? How do you know they all went online? Even if you give out 100 flyers and you get 100 visitors, it does not mean they are all unique.

I hate people putting flyers on my car. How does it make it look better?

They can also be dangerous as you may not see them as you drive off. If one flies off when you are driving, it could cause an accident!

I believe that it is the scraping of the winshield that is supposed to have made it look better, not the flyer.

This is something that I personally would not do, or have done for me. But I haven't a doubt that one could gain some business from it.

Incidentally, the topic title .. "Offline Flyer Makes 100% People Visit Web Site (Real Case Study)", is worded such that it does not make a specific rational statement.

Also, this statement is quite humorous to me .. "This is no brainer, but works like magic.".

BTW when I offer the parking lot owners (or the mall owners) to make some commissions from each purchase made during offline compaign on their territory, their motivation increases profoundly.

I think that type of marketing really wastes money by spending it targeting people who may not be in the market for your product or services. If we did that, perhaps one out of 200 would be our target market.

Four degrees outside... I hope I never want traffic that bad!!

But, I think, in the right community, it could work. I would advise staying away from touching folks cars in any major city or mean small town. But, for a vast majority of small to medium sized towns, this is feasible.

I won't tear into your "real case-study" and "100% People Visit Website" assertions too badly, except to say that they are simply assertions. You offer no statistics, specifics or information to back up those claims, whatsoever. Frankly, I think there is no way that 100% of people do any one thing, except things like being born, breathing and dying.

-Michael
