Would not suggest you buy traffic because most are not real traffic.. Do Stumble and Social Bookmark can help you draw visitor naturally rather than buyinn...

I will never buy traffic ever again. The companies always lie to customers and never do what they say. However, if you do buy traffic just make sure you dont buy from Quality Traffic Supply. Unless you have your own money making printing press as home stay away from them!

Absolutely. Buying traffic is just that--traffic. Not monetizing. Don't waste your time and money.

good traffic
As long as the traffic is generated from many different ip's you will be on the first pages of a search engine. If you get the traffic very quickly than it's probably generated by the same ip's.
I use wtools traffic and i'm satisfied with it, also is quality traffic, not from china or india or other like them.

Your best to stick to text link ads and pay per clicks. Anyone who promises you a set amount of traffic is more than likely going to send you traffic and only traffic. You more than likely will not make a single sale, don't waist your money.
Pay per click programs are not that hard, and will actually teach you some basic seo.
Research your keywords, be sure to use long tail keywords with little competition
set a max bid, google and yahoo will bid on your behalf, up to that amount
after a couple of hours look at your reports, short keywords with no impressions, you willl need to raise the bid, if your keywords are ranking 1 than lower the bid for that keyword try to keep your average rank at about 6-12. Page one is all you need.
From there its mostly trial and error, one thing you need to remember is even if you lose money to start with, you are learning, and people now know about your site that didn't before so your not really losing.
You should focus on capturing the visitors that are leaving your site with a newsletter. Keep looking for ways to profit on any and every visitor.

ppc it's not that good for promoting ... you get lot of hits but are not unique! So you have to surf all day long for a month to get sufficient ip's to your site and some don't have time and others don't have such bandwidth for the site. So time is the biggest issue here, if you buy traffic (depends from where) you can expand the period for a few months (~ 200-500 unique ip's/day) and you won't have to worry about being ranked by search engines. (all this i know because i use to be the admin of an autosurf site)

I've never bought traffic, nor will I ever. I can bet most of the time they just throw your website on a auto surf traffic exchange, and give you garbage traffic and still get away with your money.
Work hard on your site promoting and marketing it, and you will see traffic come in on its own without having to really spend a ton of money for it.
Organic traffic > Paid traffic.

PPC is such a rip in my opinion. When i first evaluated some affiliates for printerinks.com i had some git who produced 4000 clicks in a day... I wish there was something i could do report him as trash other then remove him from the group. of course i only pay for the conversions and i pay a % of the sales. I mass void canceled orders. If I dont get paid neither do the affiliates. Keeps us both honest. I also reward for good sales.
I find if you bid on the right key words that's the real way to bring traffic.
when someone says "hey go google *******" you want to be that word
