Traditional Marketing
Over the past few months, I've been learning a lot about online marketing and SEO. After all this, I can say that I've become much more knowledgeable about how search engines structure websites and what I should be utilising my online space.
However, it dawned upon me that while I've been doing all this, I've been forgetting the basic, traditional approaches to marketing! Things such as flyers, radio and giving away items such as stickers with brand names on them.
My question to all of you is what are the most cost-effective methods to traditional marketing?

It is an organizational function and a set of process creation, communication and value for customers and for managing customer relationships in ways that benefit the organization and its stakeholders. If diluted all the verbosity and looks at it, marketing means selling a product.

Nowadays, people are used to do things which are on the EASIEST way. Example of this is business making or what we called marketing. But, we must bear in our mind that without basic knowledge, there would be no advance knowledge. Just like Traditional Marketing, we need its techniques to be more advantageous to our competitors.
Here are some tips:
* Network and Speaking Opportunities
- join local business organizations and promote your product
* Media Exposure
- Remember to send out a brief press release announcing new hires, speaking engagements, and open-house events
* The basic Brochure
- you need to have an all-purpose brochure that briefly highlights the solutions you provide to people and the health issues your services and products address, along with a list of your services, testimonials, contact information and location
* Print and Email Newsletters
- produce simple printed and online communication pieces to keep you top-of-mind with patients and build awareness of your practice within your community

I'd vote for charitable events, or something you organize around a cause. If you plan one of those and tag your business with it, it's immediately viral in your area if you let it "leak" to the media. Of course, you have to pick a good cause the area has interest for, else your "leak" will be a fizzle and be less productive. Most think that such an endeavor needs to be costly to them, when in fact, it does not. Network with some local businesses that can chip in the needed items, like a facility to donate space, a beverage outlet to provide drinks, etc. No need to take it all upon yourself, just find like minded businesses and band together. Works wonders for exposure.

depends on the product and target market i think. when i ran a web design business i focused on offline marketing as marketing in the area is very competitive online. I found networking to be the best source of business. An organisation called bni specifically got me over 50% of my business.
from my experience helping friends run club nights, hitting the streets with flyers proves most effective. You can print flyers yourself or go to somewhere like vista print for cheap. Its tough work so you need to inject a bit of fun into it. like some harmless flirting or chatting to lost tourists. if you just stand there hating the task it makes for a very long day....
but both of these involved looking at the product and the target market.

Managing customer relationships will improve your business and stakeholders should concentrate on site advertising(online market).

Thanks for the input, but do you have any traditional marketing ideas that the OP could use? Your comment about online is helpful in the event they didn't think about it, but what they seem to need is help with the traditional offline methods. I'd like to hear your ideas on that if you have any

Traditional marketing would be more on Branding, so I think it would be better if you ca expose your brand through media such as newspaper, magazine or television.

There are many as we consider traditional marketing resources. The easy and cheap I could say are stickers and badges which you can distribute locally without much expense. If you got any free offer to include then it would get immediate popularity among the crowd.

Everything is moving digital - for the better and worse. Don't forget old practices, brochures are still viable and yes they do work - because a good deal of people still like tangible fliers that they can pass around physically or just have posted on their wall.
A flier hung on your wall or cubicle or wherever is more valuable than a link digitally bookmarked in someone's computer.

Mobile Marketing is a very cost effective route to go if you're looking for something that's affordable and efficient. I'd recommend taking a serious look at mobile marketing.
