I wouldn't sell my sig space anywhere, I have put friends' sites in there though.

same here. The idea sounds neat, but there's no way it could profit enough to not put my own links in there. But for folks who just post a lot and don't run any sites it might be cool.

Hey, that's me!
No 'c' in my name, though...
The site you're talking about is Sell My Signature.

I was surprised too. But I was just talking to folks at sitepoint about promoting a new forum and he said forum sigs was a good promotional tool for him too.

that sell my sig site has some surprisingly rich asking prices. I would personally consider buying sig space in the travel niche or buying people's "recent blog" space on travel forums. I didn't see anything like that though.

well I went ahead and signed up at both places to check it out. You are right, there are some pretty high asking prices in there. We'll see what happens.

I wouldn't worry about it tooo much. I think that's why the 'sell my sig' idea hasn't really taken off. It costs to much for most people to be bothered with selling their signatures.

I consider selling signature links the same as having affiliate links in signatures. It's spamming forums in a way.
I also think that anyone who sells his forum signature for a few bucks is a sad individual who's greed for money outranges his normal sense of ethics and morals.
But that's just me.

Well actually I agree with that. See if someone wanted to sell forum sigs for a high price, they could just spam forums with useless posts and then say they have a thousand posts and sell spaces on their signature...spammers..
