A few months ago, Michel Fortin tweeted the link to an article I had written to his followers. For those of you who don't know who
Michel Fortin is, he's one of the top IM'er's and copywriters on the planet! So he knows a little something about marketing.
And the fact that he took the time to not only read my article, but then tweet it to his 12,000 followers meant a lot to me.
So why I am I telling you this?
I'm telling you this because when you write an article, you never know who's going to eventually read it. Your articles are a reflection of you. That's why you should always strive to make a good impression with every article you write.
I spend many hours on the Internet each day browsing and doing research for the numerous marketing projects I'm working on for clients. And I am absolutely amazed at the proliferation of poorly written, or just plain bad articles I'm seeing on websites across the Internet.
Sadly, there are websites out there that will publish just about anything. I guess in their minds, content is content. Quality be damned!
Personally, I've always had a sense of pride about my writing. And while I don't claim to be Woodward or Bernstein, I do take great care to make sure my articles are well-written.
And if you are a serious article marketer and want to be published on well-respected, high traffic sites like
SiteProNews, WebProNews, Promotion World, Search Engine Journal and other quality sites, you simply can't write garbage.
Remember...
garbage in, garbage out!
I know many IM'er's think just because they've had their articles published on top article directories, their articles are good. But that doesn't necessarily prove anything. The truth of the matter is, most article directories will publish just about anything.
That's not to say, all article directory articles are bad. They're not. In fact, I've read many outstanding articles on article directory sites. Unfortunately, I've read many bad ones as well.
Here's another truth: Writing lots of articles consistently is hard work. And if you want to write articles and you're not good at it, then you need to work hard to improve and develop your writing skills.
Of course, if you're not willing to put in the work that's required, you could always pay a service to write articles for you. However, all article writing services are not created equal. And you'll usually end up getting what you paid for!
Remember...
garbage in, garbage out!
